Spotting a Blackcoin Whale Has Never Been Easier

Watching and monitoring whale activity on MintPal and Cryptsy has become somewhat of a fanatical hobby for many Blackcoin holders.  Wild speculations about unusual trade trends and strategic buy/sell wall speculations are pretty much the norm in most BC threads.  Honesty, it sort of drives me nuts… but it’s also oddly entertaining.

Needless to say when I found this Blackcoin Whale Spotting website, I was instantly intrigued.

I reached out to the owner of the website to get more details.

“Red indicates a lot of buy/sell orders at a particular price. This could be a whale or whales. Or it could be the natural consolidation of traders at a particular price.
If you watch the red cells and see a similar value/amount moving around different prices then that likely is a whale/whale attempting to manipulate the price by creating the false impression people think the price should be higher/lower.”

Makes sense. Basically for every red cell (wall) which is out of proportion to the cells around it, it’s possible that the price will rise/fall towards that cell. It’s definitely not an exact science, but it could help indicate when someone is trying to influence the price of Blackcoin either up or down. I’m going to monitor it for a few weeks and see how accurate it is. If you want to check it out for yourself click here.

Oh, and since we’re talking about whales and market manipulation, make sure to read this official statement from the Blackcoin devs regarding this exact topic.
